30--SANDY THOMAS ADV.

P.O. Box 2309,

We then sat on the porch together where we met two ladies about our same age who invited us to join them for cocktails and dinner later. About 5:30 P.M. we returned to our room and changed into our cocktail dresses and went to meet our new found friends, and had a lovely time with them.

We quickly made a number of friends, and the month passed almost before we realized it. I had never in all my life had such a lovely and wonderful time. Mary said many times that she was enjoying our vacation more than she had ever expected.

It took me a while to relax and get into the swing of things. There were a lot of conventions at the hotel so there were business men roaming about and Mary got her share of attention. I got jealous but there was little I could do except try to look as good as she did.

"Do you love me as much as your 'sister' as you thought you would?" I asked one evening while we were getting ready to go out for the evening.

"Darling," she replied, "I love you more than ever, and I love you especially as my sister. You have made me very, very happy. I am afraid I am really going to be sorry when you change back into your other self when we return home."

That really gave me something to think about, but we did not discuss it further at that time. On several occasions however, Mary made it plain to me that as she was concerned, she didn't mind if I remained in feminine attire indefinitely.

"You're kidding?" I asked.

But she never did make any definite statement or express herself definitely about the future.

At last the time came for us to return home, and we wired Penny the time of our arrival, and she

met us at the airport, taking us to her home for dinner.

"I can hardly wait to hear how you and Nancy got along," Penny said. "Did you enjoy your vacation as girls?"

"We had a lovely time," Mary replied. "Thanks to your training, Nancy was a perfect lady, and the sweetest sister. I think we both had a much better time then we would have had otherwise."

Mary went on to tell Penny all the details of our trip; who we met, what we did. Mary proudly even told Penny about the gentlemen that took us out to dinner. I flushed at the narration even though it was all very innocent.

Penny looked at me with a twinkle and taunted, "Maybe I did too good of job if he's got boyfriends." "Gene was a perfect lady," Mary defended then giggled at the travesty of her statement. I resisted going when the well-mannered businessmen asked Mary and I out to dinner. She insisted, saying that one aspect of forming a woman's identity involved developing skills in relating with the opposite sex. Men were now my 'opposite sex'.

"And how did you like being Mary's sister?" Penny asked me, "Did you ever regret it?"

"Except when we double-dated, I must confess that I loved every minute of it," I replied, “and I think we are both really going to regret the necessity of my changing back now that our vacation is over and we have to go back to work."

Penny did not reply, but gave Mary a funny look.

After dinner we sat in the living room sipping our liqueurs. I had changed into my prettiest informal cocktail dress. Mary had on her red satin
